Giardini Pubblici Indro Montanelli ex Giardini Pubblici di Porta Venezia
I Giardini Pubblici di Indro Montanelli (formerly called and still known as the Giardini Pubblici Porta Venezia to the locals) is Milan's second largest park. Situated in its' grounds are: the Natural History Museum (Il Museo Civico di Storia Naturale), the Planetarium (Il Planetario Ulrico Hoepli) and a nursery school which you will find next to the animal cages which once served as Milan's Zoo.
The park is to found between Corso Venezia, i Bastioni di Porta Venezia, Via Manin and Via Palestro.
This park has a mini train ride, Shetland pony rides, dodge 'ems (aka bumper cars), a carousel, two children's play areas complete with swings and several snack bars where you can buy refreshments or have a light lunch.
The Parco Magico di Primavera (Spring Fair) and Il Villaggio delle Meraviglie (Winter Wonderland) are hosted here. Look out for the advertisements for these fairs as they offer a large number of fair ground attractions and rides as well as work shops for children of all ages. The Winter Wonderland also has an open air ice-skating rink.
