Re Fosco Bar

This tiny bar, cum restaurant, is hidden away from the heavy traffic of Corso di Porta Romana in a quiet pedestrian area which boasts a small oasis of trees and roses. Re Fosco Bar is one of the few places in this part of town where you can happily sit outside on vintage picnic chairs and watch the world pass by while sipping a cappucino, munching on a light lunch or enjoying a glass of wine. Seating is limited as the inside of the bar is extremely small, however, the owner has found a way round this problem by providing outdoor seating - which is even covered and heated in the colder months. We suggest you book,  however, if you want to avoid waiting.

Re Fosco Bar is open from 7 am to 10 pm everyday and offers its clientele freshly baked croissants for breakfast which are filled on the spot with jam, cream or cooked hams and served together with your choice of coffee, tea or juices. While a selection of interesting dishes are on offer if you fancy a light lunch or dinner, such as Re Fosco's Cheeseburger made from Vagyu beef, foccaccia di Recco (stuffed with stracchino cheese), smoked salmon with sour cream and blinis, Fassone steak tartar, foie gras mousse as well as pasta dishes, a selection of salads or cheeses and hams. Re Fosco Bar is particularly popular at aperativo time, even though unlike other bars they only offer a small selection of salami, cheese, cruditées and foccaccia with your glass of wine or cocktail. However, if you are particularly hungry you can always order one of the dishes on the menu.

Although we've never had dinner here, Re Fosco Bar is a great place to have coffee, lunch or an aperativo with friends in a relaxed an informal atmosphere.
